Thanks for the suggestion!
The robot only shuts down if no program has been running for a long time. Is that not the case? In the situation you describe, it should stay on. You could also make a program that initializes everthing and then waits for you to press a button again. |

We have just begun testing if we could change from EV3 with pybricks v2 to v4. Without a programm running the brick shuts down quit fast - maybe after 2-3 minutes. Thanks for your effort developing v4 ! |

Ok, Now I have worked a little with Pybricks 4 on an EV3. I have to turn on the Ev3 everytime I want to send a new programm, because it is always down.... |

I would like to suggest introducing a parameter that can be used to control the automatic switching off of the Brick (Ev3, Spike, etc.).
In competitions such as WRO, it is common for the robots to have to "park" with the program started for a while before they are allowed to complete the run. In this context, it is disadvantageous if the Brick shuts down automatically, as it is standard practice with the EV3 to drive the motors against their mechanical stops at the start of a program in order to establish a zero point—since EV3 motors lack a fixed zero point (unlike, for example, Spike motors).
However, under WRO regulations, this motor movement is not permitted following a restart after the robot has been parked.
That's why it would be great if you could establish a possibility to turn off the automatic shutdown.
