TryPost already manages the full content creation and publishing workflow, but every time a user needs to add a tracked link to a post they are forced to leave the platform and use an external tool like Bitly, Short.io, or a UTM builder spreadsheet. This feature request proposes a native URL shortener built directly into TryPost that generates branded short links, applies saved UTM presets automatically, and tracks click performance alongside the rest of the post's analytics — keeping the entire workflow inside one platform.
Summary
A native link shortening and tracking system integrated directly into the TryPost composer and analytics dashboard. Users paste a long URL, apply a saved UTM preset or build one on the fly, generate a branded short link, and insert it into their post all without leaving TryPost. Click data flows back into the analytics dashboard and is associated with the specific post, campaign, and workspace it belongs to.
Why This Matters
Link tracking is a fundamental part of measuring social media ROI, yet most scheduling tools force users to manage links in a completely separate tool. This creates fragmented data, extra workflow steps, and attribution gaps where click performance cannot be easily connected back to the post that drove it. Bringing link shortening and UTM management natively into TryPost closes that gap, improves data quality, and removes yet another external tool from the social team's stack. OnlySocial promotes integrated short links as a key feature and it is a natural fit for TryPost's existing analytics infrastructure.
Proposed MVP
URL shortener built into the post composer with one-click link insertion
Branded short domain support so links reflect the user's brand rather than a generic shortener domain
Saved UTM presets that can be applied to any link with one click
Custom UTM builder for one-off campaign links
Click analytics per link showing total clicks, click timing, and platform source
Links associated with the post, campaign, and workspace they belong to in the analytics dashboard
Link library showing all previously created short links with performance data
