No create button for instances on waldur Homeport (openstack tenant)

Hi all, after connecting my openstack provider, i am able to create ressources from waldur, expect for Instances, no button create.
Can't find any configuration options on the admin panel to enable or desable ressources provisionning.
Can't see either in the Roles where i can control what users can't create or not.
If someone got the solutions i will be grateful to have a hint. Thank you

Hi, to be able to create instances and volumes via UI, you need to create/mark some categories as dedicated for the VMs/Volumes.
You can do that via admin interface, Marketplace > Categories.

Please note that you'd need to (re)create Openstack project to be able to start creating VMs.

By this, you mean create a new offer on waldur ?
I created a new offer on waldur, after checking in categories admin panel all of:
Default vm category
Default volume category
Default tenant category

For the "Private clouds" category which i use to create the offer.
Then i created a new offer on this category, but when i provision a tenant, i still can´t create a VM.

actually, you don't need to create a new offering, just a new tenant/project from openstack offering.

I am not sure tbh if it works if all 3 toggles are enabled for a single category. Typically there is a separate category for VMs and a separate for Volumes. Can you please try it?

Basically, the reason for the missing buttons is that after creation of the openstack tenant, private offerings for creation of VMs and Volume are not created -- they depend on the availability of those marked Categories.

Hi, I figured out that we can't create vms and volume at the tenant dashboard level (above), but new offerings are available on the marketplace for users to create machines and volumes.
But i get a 500 error:

hi, I think if you download latest release, 7.8.4, it should be ok.

I am actually on the latest version : 7.7.9 and deployed by helm on k3s.
By the way, it seems to me that the docker compose version of waldur is more advanced / completed on the openstack side. Am i right ?

no, code is exactly the same.
packaging is actually more advanced in helm, docker-compose is used rather for demo purposes.

what confuses me is shown in the screenshots, as i get different versions on the homeport interface and docs.

1. waldur --version -- this is actually calling a built in django version command, that returns django version. We are not really using it for anything, to be honest, never thought that it would be useful from cli. API has /api/version/ endpoint that returns current and latest stable version.
2. Thanks for the hint about the documentation, seems that it silently failing on github pages because of the size, will investigate.
3. Display of 5.8.4 as a newer version was a bug fixed in some of the last versions, it was caused by a change in github APIs, that are used for checking new releases. But if you are on the 7.8.4 it shouldn't show that. Are you sure that also images in k8s are on 7.8.4?
