Makes sense, however I would keep the functionality of adding/deleting friends so that users can organize their balance dashboard and remove accounts they no longer interact with. So the change would be to expand the discoverability in the user search panel, by having a section for users that we are not friends with. This would be togglable with an env var. Does that sound good? |

I have set-up Split-pro as a personal instance for family, and this is very great so far !
I have a feature request about discovering users that have already an account on my instance. I understand that on a public instance you do not want to have the visibility for everyone to see all the registered user, but for a private one it make sense to be able to see other users, even if you did not have shared an expense yet !
That way, a newcomer will already see "Friends" and does not need to gather all family email/username !
