Code of Conduct

Our pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers pledge to make participation in the Orbital community a welcoming, harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of background or identity. We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, respectful, and healthy community.

Our standards

Examples of behavior that helps create a positive environment:

  • Showing empathy and kindness toward other people.
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback.
  • Taking responsibility, apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience.
  • Focusing on what is best for the overall community.

Unacceptable behavior includes harassment of any kind, personal or political attacks, publishing others' private information without permission, and other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Adoption

This Code of Conduct adopts the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1. The full text - including the complete list of expected and prohibited behaviors, enforcement responsibilities, and the enforcement guidelines / escalation ladder - is available at:

https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct/

Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards and will take appropriate, fair corrective action in response to any behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces and when an individual is officially representing the project in public spaces.

Reporting and enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported privately to the project maintainers. To keep reports confidential, do not open a public GitHub issue. Instead, use GitHub's private reporting:

  1. Go to the Security tab of this repository.
  2. Click Report a vulnerability and describe the incident (this channel is monitored by the maintainers and keeps the report private).

Alternatively, contact a maintainer directly through their GitHub profile.

All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. Maintainers are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.

Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct/.
