A connection to the database of the German patent office (DPMA, https://www.dpma.de/english/search/depatisnet/index.html) could be useful.

I found this: https://github.com/ip-tools/patzilla/tree/main/patzilla/access/dpma

Maybe that could be adapted easily in patent_client.
