Beautiful Safari Extension - Installation Guide

🚀 Quick Installation

For Users

  1. Download the Extension

    • Download Beautiful-Safari-Extension-v1.0.0.zip from the latest release
    • Extract the zip file

  2. Enable Safari Developer Menu

    • Open Safari
    • Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced
    • Check "Show Develop menu in menu bar"

  3. Install the Extension

    • In Safari, go to Develop > Allow Unsigned Extensions (for testing)
    • Double-click the extracted Beautiful Safari Extension.safariextension folder
    • Safari will ask for permission - click "Trust"

  4. Enable the Extension

    • Open Safari Preferences > Extensions
    • Find "Beautiful Safari Extension" and enable it
    • Set permissions as needed

  5. Enjoy!

    • Open a new tab to see your beautiful new Safari extension
    • Use the AI chat button in the top-left corner

🛠 For Developers

If you want to modify or contribute:

  1. Clone the repository
  2. The backend is deployed on Vercel at: backend-3k8vu7b0e-feras-projects-59a977f0.vercel.app
  3. Make your changes to the Safari extension files
  4. Test in Safari with Developer mode enabled

🔒 Privacy

  • All personal data is stored locally in your browser
  • AI conversations are processed through Google Gemini API
  • No personal data is collected or stored on our servers

💡 Troubleshooting

Extension not loading?

  • Make sure you've enabled "Allow Unsigned Extensions" in Safari Developer menu
  • Check that the extension is enabled in Safari Preferences > Extensions

AI chat not working?

  • Check your internet connection
  • The AI service requires network access to function

Background images not loading?

  • Ensure Safari has internet access
  • Try refreshing the page
