Incrementalist vs affected

Hello!

I've just recently integrated dotnet affected and saw this as I lurked on Reddit. I was wondering if the aims of this project is different from affected? https://github.com/leonardochaia/dotnet-affected

Just wondering as the git compare was more difficult than I would have liked. This project seems newer and better supported as well.

That's a good question! Looks like dotnet-affected was created a couple of years after the first few versions of Incrementalist - it looks really similar and supports some things we don't (i.e. custom MSBuild tasks)

However, it also does the same thing that Incrementalist < 1.0.0 did: just emits a build graph file.

Incrementalist 1.0 was re-designed to actually execute the build graph via the increementalist run command.

I need to do another blog post about this, but part of the motivation for this change is because I'm generally moving our projects away from "*AKEful" build systems (CAKE/FAKE/NUKE) and more towards really basic stuff that just uses built in dotnet commands or dotnet tool execution.

I've done the same! Use Bullseye and just execute dotnet commands or run C#
