Trademarks and Brand Assets

Overview

While the source code of Gradient Bang is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (see LICENSE), different rules apply to the name, brand identity, and creative assets:

  • Gradient Bang name and trademarks: Protected and proprietary
  • Visual assets, artwork, and audio: Free to use with attribution, but ownership is retained

What This Means

✅ You CAN:

  • Use, modify, and distribute the source code under the Apache 2.0 license
  • Fork the project and create derivative works
  • Use the code for commercial purposes
  • Run your own instances of the software
  • Use the visual assets, artwork, and audio in your projects (including forks and commercial works) with proper attribution

❌ You CANNOT:

  • Use the "Gradient Bang" name for your fork or derivative work
  • Use the Gradient Bang logo or brand identity to represent your own project
  • Imply endorsement or association with the original Gradient Bang project
  • Use any Gradient Bang trademarks in a way that could cause confusion
  • Claim ownership of the original visual assets, artwork, or audio

Requirements for Forks and Derivatives

If you fork this project or create a derivative work, you must:

  1. Rename your project - Choose a completely different name
  2. Remove the Gradient Bang logo and brand identity - Do not use our logo or brand marks to represent your project
  3. Clearly differentiate - Make it clear your project is independent and not affiliated with Gradient Bang
  4. Provide attribution for creative assets - If you use our visual assets, artwork, or audio, provide appropriate credit (see below)

Creative Assets License

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially

📋 Under the following terms:

  • Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

Important Notes:

  • Attribution does not grant you the right to use Gradient Bang trademarks
  • No warranties are given; assets are provided "as is"
  • Other rights such as publicity, privacy, or moral rights may limit how you use the material

For the complete legal terms, see the CC BY 4.0 Legal Code.
