Summary:

Today's sync focused on reviewing pull requests and discussing changes to the serialization subsystem.

Serialization signatures. The team discussed removing the signature code from the serialization system. Sean confirmed this would make the stringtab thread-safety work (#5273 (ponylang/ponyc#5273)) cleaner to implement.

Pull requests reviewed:

• Universal binary on macOS — Closed. Intel macOS support has ended, so it's no longer needed.
• Separate VTable slots for partial and non-partial methods — Approved and merged.
• Compiler crash fixes — Fixes for crashes related to control expressions and infinitely recursive generic types.
• Error message updates — Improvements to error messages for type-parameter constraints and capability errors. Joe McIlvain suggested changes to make the messages clearer and more pedantically correct.
• PonyUp pre-built binaries documentation PR — Closed. It contained outdated information.

Issue triage. The team briefly reviewed some older issues, including one about GCC support on Windows. They decided to close it: the original motivation is weaker now that free build tools are available.

note all the libraries that when the next version of ponyc (probably end of month) releases that the json breaking change will be in it- the libraries that will have releases done to match the breakage (and the libraries that depend on them that will also be updated).

RFC 86 being implemented should be our hightlighted item for the week.
