Shared workspace pool between monitors #2091

Second this one. I use a workflow where I set up a teaching/presenting set of windows and then move that to the second screen (classroom projector). I can do that using "Super-W", which brings up the workspaces, but then I need to use the mouse to drag the workspace over the whole screen. Shared workspaces and a shortcut to move whole workspaces to another monitor (Super-Ctrl-Alt-[HJKL] and Super-Ctrl-Alt-Arrows?) would be perfect. |

I would love this feature - my use-case is that I work from home and have 2 stacked ultrawide monitors. I always switch inputs on my bottom monitor to use for my work laptop, and I leave the top monitor as-is for home stuff. This means my bottom monitor, while running Cosmic in another input, is effectively invisible/unusable without changing inputs. So I use one monitor for home stuff (Spotify, Discord, etc) while my bottom monitor is displaying an entirely different system. If I need to "grab" a non-work window (like a browser or window I forgot I needed) from another monitor, I need to either: I understand it's complicated, and might not be ideal when monitors are of different sizes or aspect ratios, but if there was a way to switch to another workspace that is currently sitting on my non-visible monitor, this would solve all my problems because it'd expose the windows that I can't currently see. |

i am really sad that cosmic doesn't have this already. it should have been one of the earliest feature to be implemented in my opinion. |

Story
So my story is as follows; I use a laptop and dock it to my monitor often. I like having my browser in workspace 1, discord in 2 and my terminal in 3, games / flex space in 4 and 5. I sometimes need my terminal on my main monitor and other times on my laptop (2nd screen when docked). Currently I either have to move windows between monitors or with my terminal I have two open (one for each monitor. But my proposed feature would let me pull up the window I want from any workspace on any monitor fluidly. It would also solve my need to move windows around when docking / undocking my laptop to be in useful places for the different workspace setups.
Feature Description
Instead of each monitor having its own independent set of workspaces (e.g., Monitor 1 has Workspaces 1-10, and Monitor 2 has its own Workspaces 1-10), this feature creates a single, unified pool of workspaces that are shared across all of your monitors.
When you have a multi-monitor setup, you begin with a number of active workspaces equal to the number of monitors. For example, if you have two monitors, you'll have two workspaces visible at all times. Let's call them Workspace A (on Monitor 1) and Workspace B (on Monitor 2).
The key is that you can switch which workspace is on which monitor. If you want to view a third workspace, Workspace C, on Monitor 1, you would simply switch to it.
This system creates a fluid and dynamic workflow where you can bring any workspace to any monitor, and the others will intelligently shift to accommodate your changes.
