Enhancement Request: HP/Poly/Plantronics - Support new webHID call control SDK

Since Plantronics/Poly Hub is out of support, new devices will not be supported.

There is a new Call Control SDK based on WebHID. I will try to find out if they are also planning to release a node module.

It would be good to have an implementation based on that. What do you think?

Hi all!

So Poly/HP themseleves actually opened up a fork of their own to move us away from depending on the Plantronics Hub in favor of the SDK @Draginfable mentioned above. I ran through some initial tests and things are looking promising. We had a couple things come up on our end so we weren't able to continue with the testing and the merging process for the time being.

I appreciate everyone reaching out regarding this though! Something is in the works and I'm very excited about it!

Hi @mikexs, some Poly devs still have the fork I mentioned above earlier. We've been trying to get that along to the best of our ability but we've had a number of other things come up and take our attention away. Along with testing, we need to make some changes on our end but nothing too huge.

Hi @mikexs, we currently have a PR open from the Poly devs to get this merged in! We're trying to test end to end at the moment but ran into some build issues on our end that caused some pause in progress. Hopefully once I see a good end to end test, we should be merging in the HP/Poly changes soon. Though this will be using WebHID rather than the Poly Lens app.
