how to generate a large number of simulated EBSD pattern?

Since the installation of EMsoft is more complicated, I wonder if I can directly use kikuchipy to complete the simulation?

kikuchipy cannot simulate EBSD patterns unfortunately, just project them from simulations in EMsoft (or Bruker DynamicS) onto an EBSD detector to generate a dictionary of patterns as you're asking for. What's needed to obtain a dictionary of EBSD patterns with kikuchipy is explained in the beginning parts of the pattern matching user guide.

Which OS are you using? EMsoft provides precompiled binaries for Windows and macOS. After unzipping those, you should be able to follow the EMsoft configuration to enable running test programs like EMOpenCLinfo (which prints the available CPU/GPU resources). If you have issues with installation, it might be worth checking out the EMsoft Google Group.
