Description

I'm encountering a crash when running a fresh React Native 0.76.7 project that uses the New Architecture. The app throws an invariant violation error saying that the TurboModule 'PlatformConstants' could not be found.

The app is based on the default Swift + New Architecture template, using RCTReactNativeFactory and ReactNativeDelegate. I've confirmed that RCT_NEW_ARCH_ENABLED=1 is enabled and fabric_enabled: true is set in the Podfile.

Despite a clean environment setup (watchman reset, DerivedData, Podfile.lock, etc), the crash persists and occurs right on startup.

Steps to reproduce

1. Init project with React Native 0.76.7 using New Architecture template
2. Run RCT_NEW_ARCH_ENABLED=1 yarn ios
3. App crashes immediately with 'PlatformConstants' could not be found

Hi @chooseongwoo, note that you don't have to turn on the new architecture in 0.76, as the New Arch is enabled by default.

Your issue can be caused by 2 alternatives:

• you have a problem in the JS bundle (some JS error) and the bundle can't be load properly. When this happens the native modules might not load correctly and you see the issue
• one of your native dependency is crashing when it is loaded and that prevents react native to load correctly.

In both cases, I suggest to create a new project and add your dependencies one by one until you identify the dependency that breaks the build.

Your reproducer is a plain app from the template, there are no extra dependencies in the package.json and the App.tsx file is the same of a new app created with React Native. I tried to create. new app just now, and it is working fine for me.

I ran into this error while using React Native 0.80.1, and after some trial and error, I found that adding the following line fixed it

console.log(Platform.OS);

It seems like this forces the Platform module to initialize before it's used elsewhere. I’m not exactly sure why this works, but after adding this line early in my app (e.g., in App.tsx), the error stopped occurring.
