Instead of eg https://github.com/robitalec/prepare-locs/blob/main/R/read_data.R#L14-L66 where reading differently formatted files is managed here and a combined output returned, list these differences more transparently in metadata. This will also improve extending region/species data in the future as eg. files are downloaded directly from webservice.
