We need at least one article on MID and midr to be cited in the package documentation (arXiv articles are perfectly acceptable).
I'm considering writing one based on the style for the R Journal, which seems to be currently inactive, but I believe is still active: (source).
The reasons for choosing the R Journal are:
- The R Journal style template provided by the
rjtools package seems to be easier to use than the JSS style template.
- Our approach is somewhat based on the novel method, which seems to be in conflict with the following JSS policy.
JSS does NOT publish methodological innovations in computational statistics. Novel models or estimation procedures should be published elsewhere prior to the submission of an article describing an implementation thereof to JSS. A subsequent publication of a corresponding software package in JSS is possible but requires a substantial software innovation. In contrast, JSS does not publish supplementary materials to methodological papers, such as implementations of rather specific models or algorithms (or accompanying documentation, algorithmic details, or simulations). Software WITHOUT a corresponding article documenting and illustrating the implementation and application of this software can not be published in JSS.
