How to get the path source to resolve paths relative to current directory rather than dirname of current buffer?

It's pretty common to do most operations out of the root of your git repo and have all scripts be run from there, so I find it useful to have relative path completions resolve using the current working directory (as given by :pwd) rather than the dirname of the current buffer's file. Is this possible as of now?

Was able to achieve this using:
