[Feature request] Ability to create user exceptions

It would be nice for users to be able to add a list of apps, for which, when active, other apps will not be raised/focused.

There is the stayFocussedBundleIds UI option. Not to be confused with the AppsRaisingOnFocus variable which currently isn't a UI option. It is not entirely clear to me what your use case is.

My use case are the Stats app and screenshotting, as mentioned in #271, for which I'll make a new issue once I'll know how to get bundle ids, but in the meantime, I thought it would be useful to request the ability to create those exceptions on the user end.

Allow me to clarify a bit so we can get to a proper solution:

1. Is the application (Stats/screenshotting) supposed to remain focused forever regardless of other windows you hover?
2. Or is the application window allowed to lose focus but only if the other hovered window is not "inside" of that window?

Number 2 is for applications that "misbehave" (they raise their windows even if AutoRaise tells it to only focus and not raise). Note that AutoRaise is unable to fix the misbehaving application. The best it can do is preventing smaller windows on top of such applications to become hidden because of the unintended raise. Making this configurable would indeed be a nice idea, however for now I would need to know the application name exactly as it appears in the /Application folder.

A) open finder

C) see the app name

Oh, I'm sorry about the confusion 😭

• For Stats, it's case no. 1 ;
• For screenshotting, it's neither : there's no "screenshotting window" to maintain active, but when launching the screenshot app in area selection mode, AutoRaise changes focus as I move the cursor across windows, while I just want to select an area that is larger than a window without letting focus change the content I'm screenshotting.

A) open finder
B) go to /Applications
C) see the app name

The name of the app is Stats.app, as for screenshotting, there's no such app in /Applications, but when using the launcher, it shows (my device is in French) Capture d'écran.app.

This is nicely detailed. For 1 you'd indeed need to know the bundle identifier. I will tell you how to find it in a later message. For the screenshot app, the code needs an update to detect if it is active. This will require some research. This issue however is actionable now 😄

To find the bundle id, open a terminal and type:

grep -C1 CFBundleIdentifier /Applications/<your-app>.app/Contents/Info.plist
