Contributor License Agreement

wirelog Project - CleverPlant

Thank you for your interest in contributing to wirelog. This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") documents the rights granted by contributors to CleverPlant.

By submitting a contribution (via pull request, patch, or any other means) to this project, you agree to the following terms.

1. Definitions

  • "You" (or "Contributor"): The individual or legal entity submitting a Contribution.
  • "Contribution": Any original work of authorship, including modifications or additions to existing work, submitted to this project.
  • "Project": The wirelog software project, maintained by CleverPlant.

2. Grant of Copyright License

You hereby grant to CleverPlant a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your Contributions and such derivative works under any license terms, including without limitation:

  • The GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later (LGPL-3.0-or-later)
  • Any commercial or proprietary license

3. Grant of Patent License

You hereby grant to CleverPlant a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer your Contributions, where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contributions alone or by combination of your Contributions with the Project.

4. Representations

You represent that:

(a) You are legally entitled to grant the above licenses. If your employer(s) has rights to intellectual property that you create, you represent that you have received permission to make Contributions on behalf of that employer, or that your employer has waived such rights for your Contributions to this Project.

(b) Each of your Contributions is your original creation. You represent that your Contributions include complete details of any third-party license or other restriction of which you are aware and which are associated with any part of your Contributions.

(c) Your Contribution does not violate any existing agreement or obligation you have with any third party.

5. Dual Licensing Notice

You acknowledge that wirelog is distributed under a dual licensing model:

  1. Open Source: GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later (LGPL-3.0-or-later)
  2. Commercial: Proprietary license offered by CleverPlant

Your Contributions may be distributed under either or both of these licenses. CleverPlant retains the right to offer commercial licenses that include your Contributions.

6. No Obligation

You understand that the decision to include your Contribution in the Project is entirely at the discretion of the Project maintainers. You are not expected to provide support for your Contributions, except to the extent you desire to provide support.

7. How to Sign

By submitting a pull request or patch to this project, you indicate your agreement to these terms. For additional verification, contributors may be asked to sign this agreement explicitly.
