Yes, this should have no problem working in OpenClaw, as OpenClaw supports MCP servers either locally (if hosting your own gateway locally) or if using a VPC in the cloud. You can use the relay in this project. So you run it locally, deploy a relay, and then configure an OpenClaw MCP server to work with your VPC.

You should even be able to ask OpenClaw to help you configure it for OpenClaw. That's how I'd probably start. Or if you're comfortable with OpenClaw settings, you can go right into the config in the MCP section.
