As noticed by @JensLincke, the List benchmark (for which the code originates in SOM SOM-st/som-java@3a69207), is a version derived from the classic Tak function: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tak_(function)

Would be good to not only restore the naming, but also document the origin.
