Why don’t my lyrics work?

The most likely issue is that all lyric providers failed or did not find lyrics for your song. An easy way to fix this is ensure you have the subsonic lyric provider enabled in Settings > Now Playing > Configure lyrics providers, and then supplying a .lrc file for each song that you want lyrics for. You can also rearrange/prioritise certain lyric providers.

Why do lyrics take so long to load?

Two of the lyric providers in Navic, which are enabled by default, YouLy+ and LRCLIB, are extremely slow and unreliable. YouLy+ mirrors are almost never online nowadays. You can avoid this by changing the priority of providers as previously mentioned. Note that once you load lyrics for a song once they are cached forever and you won’t need to load them again.

Why can’t you just fix this?

There does not seem to be another open source database for lyrics. I would host a YouLy+ mirror, but I don’t have the money for an apple music subscription. If you host a mirror, you can create a PR to add it to the list of URLs
