Interaction with FASP

Fediverse Auxiliary Service Providers allow servers better (federated) search and discovery options, via independent decentralized services.

Since FASPs are meant to be accessed by servers rather than clients directly, this issue is to discuss how clients should interact with FASPs via their server.

So, one possibility is that you don't see that FASP is being used on the backend at all. So, if you do an #23 , it's the same API whether the server is searching locally, remotely, using pigeons, or whatever. Similarly, #22 might use a different backend but have the same interface.

Some FASPs will extend a server's existing capabilities or operations

• Actor Search
• Content Search

Other possible FASPs may extend content or operations not currently known or modeled by the server

• ActivityPub API client reputation
• Account recommendation
• Trending Hashtags, Posts, Links

I think it is worth considering how these may be exposed to a client
