It should support it but probably not as extensively as this plugin.

Just if anyone is interested, I started a project to implement an alternative open firmware for this device as it's just an ESP32 and some GPIO... My idea is to copy the existing functionalities and also add the possibility to set random temperature targets.

I got this cooker mostly for trying to cook black garlic at home (~60ºC for a month).

I calculated about 15 kWh just by observing on/off time of the heating element (about 20s every 10min)

Oh sorry it was the MIOT Auto integration i think that added it. So for xiaomi.cooker.cmk7 you might want to check the integration i mention out.

yes, it was just added on my request into the MIOT integration.
But to be honest - having multiple different XIAOMI integrations (custom, core, etc.) with each supporting 'some' devices, is a mess.
This is an integration especially for rice cookers - so either, it will be depricated - in favor of the MIOT integration, or it should add the device support ;)

If both (and maybe the core integration) would also support the device, that's probably less of an issue ^^

Please keep in mind that Xiaomi has brought hundreds of miio/miot devices to market. Many of these are integrated into Home Assistant. Most of this work was accomplished by just 3 people. Such a small team depends on collaboration and support. Not on criticism from an individual.

I don't think, that we should close this, because another integration already supports this device.
It was quite frustrating installing several xiaomi integrations to finally find one that was [back then] supporting this device, but still not completely...

In my opinion, the best approach would be, to combine all the custom components into one, supporting (most) of the devices, rather than trying to figure out, which one is the 'best fitting' or which one has this particular device integrated.

So, sry again, if my last comment was reading a bit harsh... that wasn't meant to be this way.

I only ever mentioned the other integration here in case someone badly needs it. I think it would be good to get it working still here. Perhaps some part of the code from MIOT Auto can be reused here with their permission? Most would look for Cooker and find this integration first i think. So I would definitely give it a try if my device is supported. Sadly no other device is sold locally apart from that one :)

I didn't read Christoph's comment as criticism of this project but rather the home assistant ecosystem as a whole. And I agree, it's a bit confusing. I have one integration for my air purifier, one for my smart fan, another for my Bluetooth temp sensors, one for my body scale and now another for the rice cooker 🤭. Thanks for the tip @dkalinai ! I personally don't mind that, I'm happy they work at all. But I can understand people find it confusing. Especially now that home assistant is aiming to support less technical users.

But I just wanted to say thanks for writing this 😌 I also published free software in the past and I know what it's like. I know many people are grateful but it's very rare for someone to actually say it.
