Is the project still alive? #2720

I'm also curious about this. I've been using mermaid, but do see a lot of good ideas in D2, particularly having similar syntax across the various diagram types, imports and compositions, but don't want to get invested in a dead project. The Terrastruct Blog hasn't had a post in over 3 years which makes me wonder the company is still active beyond collecting subscription fees. |

Looks like at least the open source part of the project is abandoned. A real shame as D2 cannot really be replaced by alternatives in some areas (unfortunately, these areas are what I need). |

backlink of duplicate issue: #2735 Hi all, apologies for the inactivity. I joined OpenAI recently and have been heads down ramping up in that role. My plan is to have D2 go the non-profit route via Hack Club (similar to what Ghostty did), so that it will forever be free and open-source. Though it may not be tomorrow, I will continue to make D2 the ideal language for diagramming. For humans and AI. Mermaid ain't it. More soon. |
