Next major version?

Hey there! I was curious if there might be any progress or plans for the next major version. Primarily, it seems like this package has some catching up to do around argument / option parsing and could benefit from an overhaul of those features.

If there is a roadmap for any of this, I am more than happy to assist in implementing, but I didn't see any specific mention of the next version, so I wanted to reach out.

Hi @aidan-casey, I have a few plans for the next major, but nothing as concrete as a roadmap yet. I will leave this issue open to remind me to prepare a roadmap

yeah, 3.8.0 is out and crashed my scripts :/
