0.25.1 publish failed, npm is still stale; working fix available HERE!!!

This issue is a follow-up to the earlier maintenance concern raised here: #261

I originally tried to reopen that issue so later visitors could still see the current situation and find a working alternative, but I do not have permission to reopen it. So I am opening a new issue instead.

As of June 19, 2026, this project still appears effectively unmaintained from a user's perspective:

• v0.25.1 was tagged
• the npm package tree-sitter is still stuck at 0.25.0
• the failed publish issue is still open: Publish of 0.25.1 to npm failed #276

So while there has been some repository activity, the practical outcome for users has not changed: there is still no working upstream npm release after 0.25.0.
