maps.mail.ru/osm/tools/overpass/api/ is an invalid server

In settings choosing https://maps.mail.ru/osm/tools/overpass/api/ upon run gives

Ajax Error

An error occurred during the execution of the overpass query!

Request rejected. (e.g. server not found, request blocked by browser addon, request redirected, internal server errors, etc.)

Error-Code: Forbidden (403)

Similar with the other .ru server in the list.

Hi @jidanni,

According to OpenStreetMap wiki, maps.mail.ru stopped working about a month ago, on March 16, 2026.

I really liked the maps.mail.ru instance as it was quite reliable and did not have any rate limits.

You could try other instances outlined in OpenStreetMap wiki.

I found that overpass-api.de worked quite well, but their usage policy had limits of 1GB per day. I also tried overpass.private.coffee, but the response times were a bit too slow for me.

This server is working again

overpass.openstreetmap.ru was removed from the default list #816 You can remove it from your list manually
