Version 1.0 — Effective Date: [Insert Date]
Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Crystal Forge Project (“Project”).
This Contributor License Agreement (“Agreement”) defines the terms under which your contributions are made and the rights you grant to the Project maintainers.
- "You" means the individual or legal entity submitting a Contribution.
- "Contribution" means any source code, documentation, design, configuration, or other material intentionally submitted by You to the Project.
- "Project" refers to the open-source software known as Crystal Forge, managed by Matthew Camp (or his successors and assigns).
- "Submission" means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent to the Project, including code, pull requests, issues, comments, and documentation.
You hereby grant to the Project and its maintainers a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to:
- Use, reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute your Contributions and such derivative works; and
- Re-license your Contributions under any license terms chosen by the Project, including open source (e.g., AGPLv3, MPL, Apache 2.0) or commercial terms.
This license includes the right for the Project to include your Contributions in both:
- The open-source version of Crystal Forge (currently licensed under the AGPLv3), and
- Commercial or enterprise editions or managed service offerings of Crystal Forge.
You hereby grant to the Project and its users a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable (except as stated in this section) license under your patent claims that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution or by combination of your Contribution with the Project.
If any entity initiates patent litigation claiming that the Project or a Contribution infringes a patent, your patent license under this Agreement terminates as of the date such litigation is filed.
You represent that:
- Each Contribution is your original work, or you have sufficient rights to submit it.
- You are legally entitled to grant the rights described in this Agreement.
- If your employer has rights to intellectual property you create, you have received permission to make Contributions on their behalf or your employer has signed this Agreement.
- Your Contribution is provided free of any encumbrance that would restrict its use or distribution under this Agreement.
You waive and agree not to assert any moral rights in your Contribution, to the extent allowed by law.
The Project may attribute your Contribution using your name, username, or other identifier, at its discretion.
You provide your Contribution as-is, without warranty of any kind.
The Project is not obligated to include or use your Contribution.
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between You and the Project concerning Contributions.
It supersedes any prior agreements or representations regarding the same subject matter.
By submitting a pull request, patch, or other Contribution to the Crystal Forge Project,
You agree to the terms of this Contributor License Agreement.
If you are contributing on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so.
