Ghost jobs

We're trying to combine visit-users email list with GitHub issues.
When replying on visit-users, please reply only to emails with a Subject
line that includes [visit-dav/live-customer-response].

I am running VisIt locally am connecting to an LC cluster at LLNL where my visualizations dumps are kept.
Using the default behavior like this launches visit jobs on the login node. This makes the LC people unhappy (see below).
What is the proper way to launch such that visit runs on a compute node?

Hello John,

Our apologies for those runaway vcl's. This is something we know about and have an outstanding ticket to fix.

In the meantime, take a look at this doc page on using host profiles. I believe this will do what you want it to.
