There were some Android devices which had a trackball (Nexus One) or similar navigation mechanism. ISTR they merely scrolled the page rather than acted like the old style D-pad navigation. I'll see if I can dig out an old one to check.

I'd say it's still worth mentioning. If the iPhone 7 includes a directional button a lot of people will be caught out :-)

Wonder though if there is still a meaningful number of devices out there with the “jogger” UX - would be nice to think that had been consigned to the dustbin of UX history.
