How to source the autojump file?

When running autojump, the following output is given:

Please source the correct autojump file in your shell's
startup file. For more information, please reinstall autojump
and read the post installation instructions.

I have reinstalled autojump and there are no post installation instructions.
There are also no instructions in the readme of this repo.
How do I even start to troubleshoot this issue?

In the /usr/share/autojump/ folder lives the files you need to source.
