No blur behind transparent GTK popup menus under Wayland

I did not see any issue quite like this reported , and not sure if this is a known limitation.

I am on Plasma 6.7.3 and I have noticed that gtk popups are not blurred when running under Wayland. I have all my Firefox menus made transparent via CSS. When I run it straight under Wayland, the menus are all clear - no blur. However, if I run it with GDK_BACKEND=x11 , then everything is blurred. The same thing happens with other gtk apps such as Thunar and Nautilus (gnone-files) . And this is only happening with menus and Popups. For example, I also have my Thunar side panel transparent . That blurs just fine even under Wayland. But any right click context menu is clear. If I run it under GDK_BACKEND=x11 , then everything is blurred.

Is this a known Wayland limitation ? Or am I missing some setting ? I am noticing this only recently - after 6.7 . Before that popup blurring was fine, with some occasional cases where it would not work and that too under Firefox only. But with 6.7 - is appears to be permanently broken under Wayland for these limited use-cases.

Right now the workaround I am using for Firefox is to always use it under GDK_BACKEND=x11 .

Thanks for the response. I was not able to debug using the Kwin console because these are popups. However, commenting out the bit where you are checking for KWin::WindowType::Unknown inside the neverForceBlur() method seems to have solved my problem. So I will watch out to see what other side effects it produces.
