Help needed: Setup formcycle in a headless TYPO3

Hi together,

a customer of us has a headless TYPO3 (12) instance and would like to integrate his formcycle forms into its TYPO3 by the use of the extension and the integrated mode.

We have installed the extension and configured it so far, but we did not manage to get any output from the extension, rather in the frontend nor in the json response provided to the frontend.

We would kindly ask if you can assist us on getting it work like in a regular TYPO3 installation. Which information did you need in order to assist us?

Hi Axel,

I talked to the developers of formcycle: Unfortunately, it is not possible to render formcylce forms in any other way than by formcycle itself. I was told that this is due to the complexity of inputs users can define + the amount of JS that is needed. Because of security concerns a generic endpoint was removed. There are plans to re-add a REST endpoint.

The integration this extensions provides is just a wild hack to make remote HTML + JS of formcycle executable. In a headless installation, your frontend client would need to do this as well - like it is done with the AJAX "integration" - but as you can see, most of the time jQuery and jQueryUi is needed...

I think, the only thing this extension can provide to you is the backend listing and selection of forms, as you can only output links to standalone forms. (Another integration approach could be a custom web component that fetches the content as well).
