Summary of Changes

Hello @kyasbal, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request delivers a foundational TimelineFrameComponent designed to provide a highly performant and interactive timeline visualization. By employing virtual scrolling and a hybrid WebGL/2D canvas rendering strategy, it efficiently handles extensive time-series data. The new component centralizes complex scroll, zoom, and layout calculations, significantly enhancing the user experience for navigating and inspecting detailed timeline information.

Highlights

  • New TimelineFrameComponent: Introduced a new Angular component, TimelineFrameComponent, which serves as a container for timeline-related components, enabling virtually scrollable content both horizontally and vertically.
  • Virtual Scrolling Calculators: Added HorizontalScrollCalculator and VerticalScrollCalculator classes to manage the complex logic of virtual scrolling, including time-to-pixel conversions, zoom levels, and buffer offsets for efficient rendering of large datasets.
  • Hybrid Canvas Rendering: Implemented a hybrid rendering approach using WebGL (TimelineRenderer) for high-performance drawing of timeline revisions and events, and a 2D Canvas (TimelineBackgroundRenderer) for rendering the background, grid lines, and other static elements.
  • Enhanced User Interaction: Improved user interaction with features like dynamic scaling based on mouse wheel events (with Shift/Ctrl key modifiers), cursor time display, and interactive hover/click highlights for timeline items and rows.
  • Storybook Integration and Demo Data: Included Storybook stories for the new timeline components and a DemoViewModelBuilder utility to generate mock timeline data, facilitating testing and demonstration of the component's capabilities.

Code Review

This pull request introduces a significant new feature: a virtually scrollable timeline component. The implementation is comprehensive, covering data calculation, hybrid 2D/WebGL rendering, and complex user interactions like zooming and scrolling. The code is well-structured, leveraging modern Angular features like signals and effect for reactive state management. I've identified a bug in the auto-scroll logic and an empty file that should be removed. Overall, this is a solid contribution.

* Add MSDF texture generation scripts (#445)

* Add MSDF texture generation scripts

To enable extensible and high quality font/icon rendering on WebGL2, this script precalculate MSDFs and bake it on textures.
These files are going to be used in the updated timeline v2 renderer.

* Removed font generation step from CI

The font atlas textures and its output JSON files are included in repository.
This design is because it won't be conflict a lot ,its easy to regenerate to merge. I'll integrate this step with CI later.
We don't need to run it on CI again.
