OneTap is the instant flashlight that stays out of your way. One tap, the light is on in under 300 milliseconds — no splash screen, no loading, no sign-up. Available for Android and iPhone, OneTap focuses on the things a flashlight should do well: turn on fast, stay on as long as you need it, and turn off cleanly. It also includes an emergency Morse SOS signal, a separately gated strobe mode, an auto-off timer, a home screen widget, and a Quick Settings tile on Android.
OneTap is built around a simple principle: a flashlight should be a flashlight. So there's no advertising, no internet connection, no analytics, no "rate us" popup at 3 AM, and no permission requests beyond the camera flash itself.
- Under 300 ms from tap to light — measurably one of the fastest flashlight apps you'll find
- Camera LED torch for full brightness from your phone's flash
- Screen light in soft white, warm white, or red — perfect for reading at night, camping, or not blinding yourself
- SOS Morse signal — international
· · · — — — · · ·pattern, one tap to start, one tap to stop - Strobe mode — adjustable 1–20 Hz, deliberately gated behind an explicit long-press so it never activates by accident
- Auto-off timer — choose 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes and the flashlight turns itself off
- Home screen widget — turn the light on without opening the app at all
- Quick Settings tile (Android) — add the flashlight to your notification shade for the absolute fastest access
- No internet permission — the app cannot connect to the network at all
- No analytics, no tracking — nothing is collected, nothing is sent
- No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription — the entire app is free and stays free
- High-contrast, accessible interface for one-handed use
| Scenario | What OneTap does |
|---|---|
| Power outage | Tap the widget — full LED torch in under 300 ms |
| Reading at night | Use Screen Light in red to avoid disturbing others |
| Camping inside a tent | Warm-white screen light for ambient lighting |
| Walking the dog after dark | LED torch with auto-off timer so you don't forget it on |
| Roadside emergency | SOS Morse pattern flashing the international distress signal |
| Working under furniture | LED torch with auto-off so it never drains your battery |
| Concert / event signaling | Adjustable-frequency strobe (deliberate activation only) |
| Babysitting / nightlight | Soft warm-white screen light at low brightness |
Q: Why is it so fast? A: There is no splash screen, no animation, no startup network call, no telemetry handshake, and no consent screen. The app boots into the flashlight UI with the LED enabled.
Q: Does it really work without internet? A: Yes. OneTap does not request the network permission at all on either platform. It physically cannot phone home.
Q: How does the SOS pattern work? A: It blinks the international Morse SOS pattern — three short, three long, three short — at a steady, internationally recognized rhythm. Tap once to start, once to stop.
Q: Why is strobe gated behind a long-press? A: Flickering lights can be a health risk for people with photosensitive epilepsy. OneTap requires deliberate activation so a strobe can never trigger by accident.

Is OneTap free? Yes. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions. The entire app is free.
What permissions does it need? On Android, only access to the camera (for the flash LED). On iOS, the system flashlight API. Nothing else.
Does it collect data? No. There is no internet permission, no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs.
Does the auto-off timer protect my battery? Yes. The flashlight LED draws power even when you're not aware of it. The auto-off timer makes sure it never stays on accidentally.
Can I use it as a nightlight? Yes. Switch to Screen Light, choose red or warm-white at low brightness, set the auto-off to 20 minutes.
How fast is it really? Under 300 milliseconds from app launch to LED on, on typical mid-range hardware. The widget and the Quick Settings tile are even faster because they don't require opening the app at all.
Why have you separated strobe from normal use? Flickering lights can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Strobe is a real feature, but it's gated behind an explicit, deliberate long-press so it can never start by accident.
Does it work on tablets? Yes — but tablets without a camera flash will only have the Screen Light modes available.
Is the SOS signal a real Morse SOS? Yes. It uses the standard international SOS pattern — three short flashes, three long flashes, three short flashes — at a recognizable rhythm.
