About Program
Djangonaut Space is a free, 8 week mentoring initiative that supports people in becoming contributors to Django and the wider ecosystem. The program has a strong emphesis on being a welcoming, inclusive community and its strong focus on collaborative learning and sustainability.
It was an absolute privilege to serve as a Team Captain, working with Fabian Braun to support our mentees with their first contributions to Django CMS.As a Djangonaut Space Team Captain, I support a small, project-focused team in partnership with a Navigator. The emphasis is on people, process, and nurturing a healthy community culture, rather than providing only deep technical mentorship. This includes:
- Hold regular 1:1 check‑ins with each Djangonaut to offer encouragement, emotional support, and a safe place to talk about challenges.
- Coordinate with the Navigator or organizers to ensure program runs smoothly and that anyone struggling can get the support they need.
- Encourage questions, celebrate small wins, and normalize learning at different paces.
- Help Djangonauts set realistic weekly goals and reflect on their progress over the 8‑week program.
I highly reccommend the Djangonaut Space program to anyone wanting to dip their toes into being an open-source maintainer/contributor or anyone looking to increase their involvement in the open-source community. A big thank you to the Djangonaut Space team, for making my experience with the program so easy by encouraging a safe and supportive community.
You can learn more about the program over at the Djangonaut Space website.

About Event
I’m back again for DDD Perth 2025, and you know what they say — "if you can’t beat them, join them", which is exactly what I have done this year.
DDD Perth is Australia's largest community‑run, inclusive, non‑profit conference. The event is ran by the local software community, for all roles in tech, designed to be a one‑day, approachable and affordable tech event for everyone. I couldn't pass up the oportunity to get involved, joining the DDD WA Inc. Board of Directors.
As a Director, I worked with the other board members, coordinate a subcommittee and manage close to 40 volunteers throughout the day.The conference featured high‑profile keynotes alongside first‑time speakers, with a speaker pipeline shaped through blind community voting and committee curation to keep the line‑up diverse and relevant. Sponsors like VGW (Gold) and a broader group of platinum, digital, and community partners helped make the event possible, supporting everything from venue and production to scholarships and accessibility initiatives.

About Event
Attended the 10th Anniversary of DDD Perth.
DDD Perth 2024 marked a significant milestone as the conference celebrated its 10th anniversary, bringing Perth's largest community-run tech conference back to Optus Stadium on Saturday, November 16th, 2024
This years keynote speaker was Ekaterina Sirazitdinova, a Senior Deep Learning Scientist at NVIDIA. Ekaterina delivered an amazing talk about the latest advances in multimodal generative AI, explaining the inner workings of their systems whilst exploring key concepts and techniques involved. This was a personal highlight of the day for me, with this being to debut appearance in Australia all the way from Munich, Germany, it was a great honour to connect with her and learn from one of the best minds advancing AI.
Given the size of the event, there were definetly some clashes between talks that I wanted to see, which ment I had to make some tough choices on who to see. However that being said, here are some other personal highlights from the talks I was able to see:

Participant in the National Missing Persons Hackathon 2024.
Ranking 7th Place.About Event
The National Missing Persons Hackathon is a non-theoretical capture the flag (CTP) competition where participants source intelligence and potentials leads on real missing person cases during a 6 hour event.
Participants are awarded points based on the number of submissions, which could include recent photos, last know locations, social media accounts, etc.
This year my team (consisting of 2 members) placed 7th against 212 other teams.
We were also able to source recent information indicating the whereabouts of a person who had been evading police for roughly 10 years.
