Hello, world!

Hi! My name is Owen. I am a Year 3 Computing Science Student at Heriot Watt University. I am always trying to learn new things, and on here you can find some of the projects I have done/been involved in.

My eventual goal is to enter the workplace as a Space Systems Engineer, and I am always looking for ways to make this possible.

Sometimes I will post videos of my projects onto my YouTube channel. I don't always do this, however I try to do it every so often.

I have a massive interest in two main topics:

• Trains
• Spaceflight

So a lot of my projects are related to one of these topics. Although there is a lot of completely unrelated work, too!

I am currently working on a number of side projects.

1. Artemis II launch countdown: I'm trying to get a full mission timeline app working by the launch of the Artemis II Mission (Thank you Hydrogen, Helium for the extra time 😉)
2. Personal Website: Previously I had my own website that had a blog and some information about my Awards, etc. This was hosted on our College PHP server which I no longer have access to. I am aiming to get my new website up and running by Autumn this year. It will have way more features than my previous website
3. My degree: Felt like it was a good idea to include this here! A lot of my time is spent revising, and trying to better understand content we've been taught. I'm really enjoying the work, and I look forward to what comes next!
4. GRIDmas Tree: I'm continuing my work on the GRIDmas Tree project. Currently I'm midway through rewriting the Discord bot in JavaScript (No more TypeScript, yay! 🎉 (I have nothing against TS, I just prefer JS))

I'm interested in getting back into Machine Learning. This is something I've dabbled into in the past, but never really did too much. This is the next thing I want to get back into.
