🧍‍♂️ Yazan Homssi

I am a Computer Science major at De La Salle University Manila, interested in both Software Engineering (SwE) and Machine Learning (ML). My journey (so far) has taken me from training and testing models for the Philippines' top FinTech unicorn to building and maintaining payment orchestration engines for a global banking leader.

💼 Professional Experience

ING Hubs Philippines | Shared Tech Intern (Software Engineering)

April 2026 – September 2026

A global capability center for ING Group, the Dutch multinational bank, powering core banking and digital transformation across 40+ countries. Embedded in Order Manager as a Platform (OMaaP), the central orchestration engine for payment orders across ING’s Payment & Settlement Services (PSS) landscape.

GCash (Mynt) | Machine Learning Intern

October 2025 – April 2026

The Philippines’ first $5 Billion FinTech unicorn and the country's leading mobile wallet/financial super-app. Under the Transformation and Data group, technically under Data Office (DO) as a whole, under the Trust and Security pillar where the main focus was training and testing models related to fraud detection and credit risk.

🏫 Leadership Experience

Google Developer Groups on Campus (GDGOC) - DLSU

Chief Relations Officer | Sep 2024 – Aug 2025

GDGOC is a university-based community for students interested in Google developer technologies. As the Chief Relations Officer, I led a department of over 20 associates, serving as the bridge between the student body and industry leaders.

This role refined my ability to communicate with external stakeholders, manage teams under pressure, and build a network of academic and corporate partnerships that enhanced our community's resources.
