ARIA Protocol v1.0 — Public Launch

April 1, 2026 · TrustLayer Foundation A.C.

The first public release of the ARIA Protocol specification — the open protocol for AI agent identity.

What's included

  • Specification: Complete protocol architecture — trust levels (L0–L3), AID structure, DNS anchoring, delegation, revocation
  • Agent Trust Protocol (ATP): Three-phase handshake for agent admission — declare, evaluate, admit
  • JSON Schemas: Machine-readable schemas for AID, ATP policy, and intent declarations
  • Examples: Sample AID document, ATP DNS policy, and TypeScript verification code
  • Governance: CONTRIBUTING guide, security policy, issue templates

Standards alignment

  • NIST SP 800-63-4 (IAL 1–3)
  • FIPS 204 (ML-DSA-65) + RFC 8032 (Ed25519)
  • W3C DID Core / W3C VC Data Model 2.0
  • CA/B Forum SC-081v3
  • StatusList 2021

Cryptography

Composite signatures: ML-DSA-65 (post-quantum, FIPS 204) + Ed25519 (classical, RFC 8032). Both must verify. Not a migration plan — the launch configuration.
