v0.1.0-alpha — Initial Pre-Release
OMEGA: Oceanic Measurement & Environmental Geospatial Array*
A portable system that records underwater depth and position and reconstructs that data into bathymetric maps and geospatial overlays.
This release establishes the full working pipeline:
Demo Output
Bathymetric Depth Map
Bathymetric Contour Map
What’s Included
Embedded Logger (Arduino)
Outputs:
dataXX.csv— full system logmapXX.csv— filtered survey dataMapping Pipeline (Python)
Mapping Filter (Real-Time)
Only logs usable survey points based on:
Example Data
Included:
View the MAP00.CSV dataset
Quick Start
Open the
.kmzfile in Google Earth.Known Limitations
Ultrasonic depth sensing:
No salinity correction
GPS limits spatial resolution
Interpolation = modeled surface (not direct measurement)
Map quality depends on survey path + density
Stability
Roadmap
Notes
This version establishes a complete system from embedded sensing to geospatial output.
It functions as both:
