This project already solves a very practical problem: exporting HTML presentation frameworks to PDF and screenshots reliably.
One adjacent use case keeps coming up in presentation workflows: after users export a deck visually, they sometimes need an editable PPTX for downstream collaboration in PowerPoint / WPS.
A possible companion workflow could be:
- export with DeckTape to PDF or screenshots
- feed that output into a reconstruction step
- produce an editable PPTX with real text boxes and movable assets where possible
I'm working on an open-source project for this exact gap:
Why it seems relevant here:
- DeckTape is already the reliable visual export layer
- many teams accept the visual fidelity of PDF/screenshots, but still need a later editable handoff
- an optional bridge to editable PPTX could extend the usefulness of DeckTape outputs without changing its core scope
