AMD recently launched FSR4 sdk, so just wondering if it's possible to add FSR4 dll file to the swapper

There are some DLLs in there, I have not confirmed if they are "FSR4" DLLs though. Those DLLs are:

• amd_fidelityfx_framegeneration_dx12.dll
• amd_fidelityfx_loader_dx12.dll
• amd_fidelityfx_upscaler_dx12.dll

There is also no Vulkan DLLs.

Additionally they release FSR 3.1.5, however those DLLs are missing and I opened an issue with them here.

I don't know I this is a broken release, or if there is no FSR4 Vulkan or FSR 3.1.5 avaiable. Keeping an eye on this though.

It's possible amd_fidelityfx_loader_dx12.dll contains FSR 3.1.5, I need to test some more. I also don't have a system that can load FSR4 so that kind of hampers my abilities to test.

FSR4 doesn't support Vulcan api at the moment

Do you know if there is a way to see what version of FSR is being used, similar to the DLSS on screen indicator?

Unfortunately, only a few selected games actually show you the version of FSR 4, while the majority just say FSR 4 active via driver. :(

According to AMD
To use upscaling technologies, the amd_fidelityfx_upscaler.dll provides access to AMD FSR 2, 3.1.5, and 4 and must be included alongside amd_fidelityfx_loader.dll in the title.
AMD FSR 4 upscaling requires an AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series GPU or better, and can only be used on appropriate hardware.
When running on other hardware, the AMD FidelityFX API will automatically select AMD FSR 3.1.5.

In that case I wonder if amd_fidelityfx_upscaler.dll being renamed to amd_fidelityfx_dx12.dll (mentioned here) and used to update FSR 3.1.X to 3.1.5. If so I can distribute FSR 3.1.5 easily. The others I'd need to wait until DLSS Swapper has multi-DLL support.

Without being able to have an output on the screen saying what FSR is being used it's hard to confirm it is working as expected.

EDIT: OptiScaler may be able to tell me.

I did a quick test over lunch. amd_fidelityfx_upscaler.dll has FSR 3.1.5 and 2.3.4. Will test later if renaming it to what we expect is good enough to distribute it.

It actually might not need amdxcffx64.dll (fsr4) anymore because I see the symbols 4.0.2, 3.1.5, and 2.3.4 in amd_fidelityfx_upscaler_dx12.dll. It looks like it's just defaulting to 3.1.5. Just a wild speculation, but it's probably done so 4.0.2 needs a override "signal" from the adrenaline driver instead of simply dropping in amdxcffx64.dll. Also explains why a normal query only reports 3.1.5 and 2.3.4.

(this is based on nothing other than names and how they said it works from the notes you posted in the other thread) Thats what I thought the loader dll was doing. Directing queries to FSR4 in the driver or FSR 3.1.5 in the upscaler dll. I don't have any FSR4 capable hardware so I can't really test.

The loader renamed to amd_fidelityfx_dx12 will work but you got to add both upscaler and frame gen dlls alongside.
Good luck managing that in DLSS Swapper, thanks AMD for yet another mess

Fsr 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 dlls used to work, but drag and dropping in the 3 new dlls breaks the fsr4 override. I'm on Linux btw so Proton/Wine used to work fine overriding fsr4 for RNDA3 and RDNA4. I'll investigate more in the weekends and report back if there's anything interesting.

https://gpuopen.com/learn/amd-fidelityfx-sdk-2-0/ Confirms that amd_fidelityfx_upscaler_dx12.dll has all 3 upscalers. It's supposed to be plug and play. It will use FSR4 if it detects a 9000 series GPU, otherwise fsr 3.1.5. Not sure why it's not working on my Linux system (with a 9070xt). The game reports my gpu accurately too...
