This pull request adds code for ingesting PlastChem, a database of chemicals relevant in the plastics sciences. A few key highlights:

  • most chemicals have a CAS and PubChem ID
  • many chemicals that only have a CAS do not have a name propagated through, because CAS doesn't have a free API iirc
  • ECHA classification is interesting, but appears to be free text in their site as well
  • It has a detailed classification scheme, which would be good to either upstream into ChEBI or to make a custom ontology for
