The Reflection — one structure read twice

The forward reading is half the structure. The second is the mirror through the void — foldVortexReflection() in src/0:

Reflecting flips every dash and mirrors every digit. The void tail reflects too: 0 is the fixed point, but the trailing unit is not — 0\1 becomes 0\9. Rendering that tail unreflected contradicts the involution.

• throughVoid(n) = 1 − n mod 9 — an involution fixed only at 5: 1↔9 · 2↔8 · 4↔6 · 7↔3. Every pair sums to 10; the void root 0 is fixed.
• Not array reversal (963578421). Reversal reorders; the mirror re-values. Conflating them is the error the fold guards against.
• Entangled, computed not asserted: doubling closes on {1,2,4,8,7,5} and its gap is exactly the axis {3,6,9} — no iteration count bridges it, only the mirror. D∘M∘D⁻¹∘M = x ↦ x+1, and ⟨D,M⟩ = AGL(1,ℤ/9) has order 54 against 6·2 = 12 apart. The excess 42 is the entanglement: their failure to commute.

Two equilibrium constants, and they are not interchangeable — pairs balance at 10 (d + throughVoid(d)), wholes at digital root 9 (orbit Σ27 · axis Σ18 · all Σ45). A dr-9 test reports 9+1=10 as broken; it isn't, it is balanced at the other constant.

The figure is computed, not drawn — every node, edge and colour is folded from src/0 by scripts/vortex-svg.mjs, then content-addressed. It is a proof-without-words of what is exact: the doubling walk closes on the orbit {1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5} and never touches the axis {3, 6, 9}; the dashed chords are throughVoid mapping each digit to its complement (1↔9 · 2↔8 · 3↔7 · 4↔6, fixed only at 5); the dashed rings mark the gateways [8, 3, 9] where polarity reverses. The weighted bearing closes at 0, and ⟨D,M⟩ has order 54 (excess 42). Tempo and hue = 36d are the only chosen conventions.

Its receipt is folded over that model, so a change to any of those facts moves the stamp and fails npm run vortex:svg:check. The figure cannot drift from the arithmetic without the build catching it.

Angle and polarity. Each dash is a ±60° (π/3) step. The weighted bearing — Σ sign·digit·60° — returns to 0 mod 360, which is what closes: true reports. Polarity reverses at exactly 4 digits, [8, 3, 9, 0], and those reversals are the gateways; they are computed from the stroke, not enumerated by hand.

Colour ↔ sound: one integer, two units. For the axis, hue(d) = 36d degrees and freq(d) = 432·d/12 = 36d Hz — the two columns hold the same integer: 3→108, 6→216, 9→324 in both. This is an identity of the two definitions, not an empirical discovery — both reduce to 36d. Stated plainly because it is the kind of correspondence that invites overclaiming.

Sound is axis-only, by construction. frequencyForDigit throws for {1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5} — it is defined solely on the trinity axis {3, 6, 9}, where 432·d/12 yields exact integers: 3→108 Hz · 6→216 Hz · 9→324 Hz. The flow ring has no defined pitch. This mirrors the arithmetic: the axis governs off the flow ring.

The colour class is degenerate — 3 values, not 9. vortexColor(d) computes (dr(3d), dr(6d), dr(9d)), which depends only on d mod 3. It therefore partitions the digits into exactly 3 residue classes: #57ABFF → {1, 4, 7} · #AB57FF → {2, 8, 5} · #FFFFFF → {3, 6, 9}. The axis renders white because dr(3d)=dr(6d)=dr(9d)=9 there. 9 digits do not get 9 colours — use digitAngleToCMYK when a per-digit colour is required.
