v4.3.0
- NEW Suspicious data highlight: During data input as well as for data visualizations, we have added warnings/highlights for suspicious trait values. These could be numeric data points that stray too far from the main data distribution or categorical values that have a high disagreement rate between replicates."
- NEW Internal camera: For devices that show issues with saving images, we have added an internal camera view for taking and tagging images and videos. This should finally resolve any issues on Samsung devices. To enable, please check the settings for the 'camera mode'."
v4.2.1
- NEW Share trial via email: A new button has been added below the trial share code text box on the share screen to easily share a trial via email. If people have been defined as part of the trial with email addresses, these will automatically be selected.
- FIX Long format export: Fixed an issue with the long format export where non-aggregated data had a mismatch between column headers and data.
v4.2.0
- NEW Decimal separator: You can now change the decimal separator used during data entry in the settings. This may be useful for countries/languages where a comma is used instead of a period.
- NEW Trait and trial name wrapping: On smaller sceens it can be difficult to differentiate between traits with similar names due to the names potentially being cut off at the end to keep them in a single line of text. This limit has now been increased to two lines giving the names more space.
- NEW Troubleshooting FAQ: A section on troubleshooting has been added to the GridScore documentation. This should cover some of the most common issues people may encounter.
- NEW Data persistence permission: When loading a new trial, GridScore may ask for permission to use the so-called persistent storage of the browser. This should prevent the browser from deleting any trials data when available storage gets low.
- NEW Grid display field options: There are now two additional options in the settings for grid display field which determines what text is shown in each plot on the data grid.
- FIX Trait selector issue: GridScore wasn't properly re-rendering the trait selection dropdown list when traits got toggled.
- FIX Multi category trait definition import: Fixed an issue with the import of multi-category trait definitions from tabular format.
v4.1.0
- NEW Tabbed data input: This version sees the return of the tabbed data input (traits grouped into tabs). This is based on user requests as well as performance reasons for trials with 100+ traits.
- NEW Trial storage size information: The trial selector now has a small icon in the top right that lets you know how much space your trials are using on your device and how much space is still available. This is only shown on browsers that support this.
- NEW Default data entry view setting: There is now a new setting that lets you choose which of the data entry views you want to be shown by default when selecting a trial.
- NEW Samsung device warning: Due to ongoing issues with Samsung devices (specifically the Samsung Internet browser), a warning message has been added to the front page to let users know.
- FIX Trait group removal: Fixed a bug where it wasn't possible to remove the trait group from a trait during setup/edit.
v4.0.0
- NEW New setup screen: The trial creation/setup screen has been streamlined into a 'wizard'-type interface that takes you through the setup step by step.},
- NEW Trial editing/duplicating improved: Editing an existing trial will now reuse the same user interface as the trial setup so it's easier to find everything.},
- NEW Multi-category traits: Scoring multiple values for the same categorical trait is now possible with a new trait type.},
- NEW Improved performance of large trials: For very large trials - either large number of germplasm, or large number of traits, or both - we have made improvements to GridScore that should make the data collection a lot smoother.},
- NEW Custom row and column names: You can now define custom names for what by default is called a 'row' and a 'column'. This will change and occurrence of these throughout the interface.},
- NEW Printable field plan: You can now create an image of your trial field plan for printing. Please not that this may be unavailable for very large trials.},
- NEW Custom stepper size for range slider traits: Range slider traits can now have a custom step size. The default was always 1, but it can now be changed to values like 0.5, 2, 5, etc.},
- NEW Plot highlighting: You can now highlight plots in the main data display based on replicates, treatments, controls/checks and germplasm search matches.},
- NEW Plot locking: Plots can now be locked by the trial owner. Locked plots cannot be edited until unlocked. They are shown in muted colours in the main display.},
- NEW Trial locking: Similarly, a whole trial can be locked. This will prevent any further modifications of the trial. If collecting data on multiple devices, one final synchronization from those devices will be allowed.},
- NEW Image naming configuration: During trial setup you can now change the set and order of parts used in image and video filenames.},
- NEW NFC chip support: On Android and Chrome, you can now make use of the device's NFC chip scanning capabilities for plot identification.},
- NEW Dedicated guided walk and scan input page: In addition to the main data display grid you can now use a dedicated guided walk page as well as a barcode-focussed input page to enter data more efficiently.},
- UPD Timeline charts: We have reworked the timeline charts to allow for more meaningful data visualization. You can now highlight specific germplasm, reps or treatments.},
- UPD Full Typescript support: GridScore now uses Typescript wherever possible to improve the type-safety of data handled in the app. This should reduce the potential for bugs and errors.},
- FIX Image saving issues: In previous versions there have been issues with saving images on some devices. This has now been resolved.}
v3.4.4
- NEW Video trait type: Similar to an image trait, a vidoe trait can be used to record videos with the device's camera. The resulting files will be tagged with the germplasm, rep, etc. and the filename will be stored as the trait value.
- CHG Scroll to search result: When searching for a match using the search box, GridScore will now scroll the main view to bring the search result into view.
- FIX Fixed multiple bugs: Fixed issues with decimal values in row/column counts and labels as well as import of traits from JSON format if groups are defined.
v3.4.3
- CHG: Dependency update: This version includes a big update to our server dependencies. This should not affect the way GridScore operates for our users.
- FIX: Main data display empty: Fixed an issue where the main data display might appear empty on first load of a trial.
v3.4.2
- NEW: Trait toggle display: When traits are toggled (visibility changed) the main data display will now maintain its scroll position. This means that the plot/pot which was at the centre before will also be at the centre after toggling.
v3.4.1
- NEW Trait cutoff date: When scoring timeline traits a cutoff date can be set while scoring to adjust the main data display in such a way that the circles/squares are only filled if a value has been recorded after the cutoff date. This makes it easier to identify plots that still need to be scored in the current 'run'.
- NEW Discard local changes: In some cases it might be necessary to delete any local changes that have been made since a trial was last synchronised (due to input error or similar). This can now be done from the synchronisation screen.
- NEW Better onboarding: A new help toolbar has been added below the main navigation that will contain links to help pages. When GridScore isn't installed properly, a button with information on how to install GridScore will be shown.
- FIX Comment deletion: Fixed issues with comment deletion on shared trials. Previously it was not possible to delete plot comments due to a bug.
v3.4.0
- NEW Dedicated barcode, friendly name, pedigree and treatment: During the creation of a trial, in addition to the germplasm identifier and the rep, you can now also define the following: a) a friendly name: this will be used instead of the germplasm name for display thoughout the interface. b) dedicated barcode: instead of using the germplasm identifier as the barcode, you can now specify dedicated barcodes for each plot. c) pedigree: Pedigree information for each plot can be imported. d) treatment: Add information about potential treatment for this plot.
- NEW Long format features: When exporting data in then long format, it is now possible to include the person who recorded the data as well as show the full timestamp of the recording event. We now also include the set position.
- NEW Disable auto-progression: It is now possible to disable the automatic progression between trait inputs where the next input field (might be in the next trait group tab) is automatically selected once a value has been entered. This will help prevent automatic date selection for date traits on iOS devices.
- FIX Long format error: Fixed issues with export to long format where data wasn't exported correctly when aggregation was enabled.
- FIX Trait deletion error: Fixed issues where it wasn't possible for owners to delete a trait.
