add whitespace checking to CI

this adds whitespace checks which weren't in the German CI, but in a few other repos like the english and dutch ones.

I would suggest using @pre-commit or something similar instead of manually writing a check. You could also add a bunch of other hooks later and be able to run it as a pre-commit hook on git. See the configuration in the compiler.
