This repository contains everything I could do in the 42 Piscine between July 14th and August 8th. I did almost every exercise (although some of them weren’t submitted again to Moulinette for evaluation) from Shell00 to C09; I skipped C10 and did C11. I still plan to finish C12 and C13 because they sound cool.
Even though I have a background in Software Engineering, it was a real challenge — but also very fun. The experience itself of immersing with another dozen pisciners made me grow; all the time I had to interact, talk to people, and especially help, since most of the students were starting from scratch right there.
It was my first time coding in C. Although I have the basics of the syntax and so on, it was still nothing I could rely on to make the Piscine. I think I learned quite a lot — from consolidating basic syntax, manipulating strings and arrays in C, to passing arguments to the main program and dynamic memory allocation. I got 100% in the first 3 exams and 72% in the last one (I got stuck on a question about linked lists, a subject that I hadn’t touched properly in the projects since it is C12’s subject).
I am very happy with my performance and especially with the people I met. I really think I made some friends for life in this Piscine. Let’s see what comes next!
