Deprecation of cordova-plugin-device-motion

With the upcoming depracation of cordova-plugin-device-motion will the shake plugin be updated to use the W3C Device Motion and Orientation API as described here https://blog.phonegap.com/migrating-from-the-cordova-device-motion-plugin-ddd8176632ed

Anyone have a simple solution to detecting shake since the depreciation?
I can't use this plugin with cordova android >= 8.x.x
