Position Manager helps universities and research institutions manage staff positions, track budget allocation, and find optimal position assignments for new hires.
Highlights
Interactive Position Timeline
Visualize all staff positions on an interactive Gantt chart. See at a glance which positions are filled, partially filled, or have gaps — with color-coded fill rates and a red "today" marker for quick orientation. Zoom from 3 months to 5 years and use the timeline
slider to navigate across any date range.
Smart Position Finder
Need to place a new hire but not sure which position fits best? The Position Finder matches candidates to available positions based on salary grade, desired employment percentage, and time period. Each match is scored and rated (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor) with a detailed budget efficiency analysis. When no single position is available, the system automatically suggests how to split the assignment across multiple positions.
Research Group Management
Organize positions by research group and assign professors as group leads. Import research groups in bulk via CSV, with automatic professor matching by university ID. Professors see only their own group's positions when they log in.
Role-Based Access Control
Four user roles ensure everyone sees exactly what they need:
- Admin — Full access to all features and settings
- Job Manager — Manage all positions and use the Position Finder
- Professor — View positions within their own research group
- Employee — View positions within their group (read-only)
Salary Grade Configuration
Define and manage salary grades (TV-L E-grades, W-Besoldung, A-grades, and custom types) with monthly values and salary ranges. The Position Finder uses these grades to calculate budget efficiency and detect waste.

- Grade Values — Full CRUD for salary grades with type classification, active/inactive status, and in-use indicators
